Cello Weekend in Laguna
I love the cello. There is something about those instruments in the lower register that I feel in my gut when I hear them live. Thanks to The Philharmonic Society and Laguna Beach Live, we have an entire weekend of cello in Laguna Beach. Not only that, we get to see young cellist virtuoso Johannes Moser in performance. His resume and his accolades are way too long to list here, but you can easily say this is like seeing a young Yo-Yo Ma in a smaller theater before he became a household name.
This series is the annual Laguna Beach Music Festival. The performances are held at The Laguna Playhouse. The Laguna Playhouse is medium sized and all the seats are good. I like to talk about events where you can mingle with your fellow culturalists and the Laguna Playhouse provides just that. The lobby and outer plaza are small, so get out there and rub elbows with your fellow patrons and make some new friends! Happiness is highly correlated with your experiences and memories, not the toys you acquire!
